...but not in the way you might think
Diversity in ethnicity, gender and sexuality isn't particularly important on online space where people are only traceable by (if anything at all) aliases. I could be a omnisexual non-binary xenogender therian. That doesn't fucking matter. What does, is: Diversity in interests and hobbies. The peripheral web is oversaturated with digital artists and tech aficionados. (mostly programmers and Linux enthusiasts.)
But we're sorely lacking in those passionate in other fields. For the most part, these people are stuck within the hellscape of social media, or simply never share their interests online whatsoever. Imagine how much more lively and appealing the personal web could be with people of all these different skillsets sharing their passions and knowledge on both forums and personal websites!
